Advanced Wreck Diver

The Advanced Wreck course surely is one of my favourites! We have some sunken ships in Sicily, and divers think they are just safe to penetrate without any precaution. But have you ever tried exiting any of them safely while blindfolded? You will immediately realise that even in a wreck well known to you this can be very tricky.

What is in the course?
In the TDI Advanced Wreck course you will practice proper line laying, lost diver, lost line and other line drills, and several skills during exit. Swimming out with a teammate while gas sharing through restrictions needs good teamwork, probably at a level which is higher than you are used to. You will practice zero visibility exits, and combine the zero visibility with gas sharing. Just to keep it fun.

Furthermore, you will learn or polish up on proper communication in an overhead environment, dive planning, and team coordination.

Advanced Trimix Diver

Advanced Trimix course you will learn to handle multiple stages, planning hypoxic trimix dives up to 100 m with travel gases.

Team and situational awareness should be on a very high level at this point, we will work on that as well.

Equivalent narcotic depth, gas reserve, HPNS and Isobaric counter diffusion, backup planning are just some of the topics we will cover. The maximum depth on the course will depend on your previous experience, the minimum we will reach 75 m the maximum is 100m.

Trimix Diver (normoxic)

Are you looking to expand your depth range? Do you want to reduce narcosis during deep dives? The TDI Trimix Diver course could be your next step!

As your motivation to explore progresses, you will find that you may want to go deeper to dive that wreck that is part of history or that cave system that you have read so much about. One of the major limiting factors of going deeper is narcosis; TDI’s Trimix Diver course shows how to minimize the effects of narcosis by adding helium to offset the nitrogen in your breathing gas. While taking the Trimix Diver course your TDI Instructor will teach you how to plan and execute dives utilizing as little as 18 percent oxygen and diving to maximum depth of 60 metres/200 feet with a blend of helium appropriate for the planned depth.

What you can expect to learn:

  • Advanced decompression dive planning including:
    • Gas planning based on equivalent narcotic depths, nitrogen and helium absorption and elimination, CNS and OUT limits, Isobaric Counter diffusion, volume requirements, etc.
    • Decompression gas choices
    • Tables vs. personal dive computers
    • Emergency and contingency planning (equipment failure, omitted decompression, etc)
  • Decompression diving procedures
    • Equipment selection
    • Pre-dive checks and drills
    • Stress analysis and mitigation
    • Following a decompression schedule
    • Gas switching
    • Team awareness and communication
    • SMB/lift bag deployment
  • Proper trim, buoyancy and finning techniques
  • Management of multiple decompression/stage cylinders
  • Emergency procedures (equipment failures, catastrophic gas loss, omitted decompression, navigational errors, injured/unconscious diver, etc)
  • Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing trimix nitrox and mixes, and gas blending procedures

    • Advance their technical diving education

Course prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Minimum certification of TDI Advanced Nitrox AND Decompression Procedures Diver, or equivalent

What’s in it for you?

  • Ability to conduct technical diving activities using custom trimix mixtures without direct supervision provided:
    • The diving activities approximate those of training
    • The areas of activities approximate those of training
    • Environmental conditions approximate those of training
  • Ability to enroll in TDI Advanced Wreck and TDI Advanced Trimix courses

TDI Trimix Diver minimum certification requirements:

  • Satisfactorily complete the TDI Trimix Diver course written examination

Extended Range Diver

With this course you extend your skills and knowledge and experience required to competently utilize air for dives up to 55 metres / 180 feet that requires staged decompression, utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression. You will learn the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air diving to a maximum of 55 metres / 180 feet utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen for staged decompression.

You will have 4 dives deeper than 30 m., 2 of them deeper than 40 m.

  • Minimum age 18
  • Certified as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver, or equivalents
  • Provide proof of a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which 25 must be deeper than 30 metres / 100 feet

Many other courses are available, ask which one you would like to do!

Helitrox Diver

The TDI Helitrox Diver Course gives you the tools to carry out staged decompression dives utilising helium in the breathing mixture to reduce the effects of inert gas narcosis.

  • This course has all the benefits of the Decompression Procedures course (staged decompression, equipment set-up, decompression techniques and breathing gasses, gas management, contingency planning and problem solving procedures over 4 dives to a maximum operating depth (MOD of 45m) but allows the use of helium mixes up to a maximum of 35%. Making this course ideal for anyone who suffers from nitrogen narcosis. Duration: 2-3 Days
  • Minimum age 18
  • Minimum Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) or TDI Intro-to-Tech and TDI Advanced Nitrox (or equivalent).
  • Provide proof of 50 logged open water dives

Many other courses are available, ask which one you would like to do!

Decompression Procedures Diver

Decompression Procedures Divers Course builds on from the Advanced Nitrox course, using computer generated tables and staged decompression dives. With Decompression Procedures Diver Course you will learn the methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. You will be trained to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 metres / 150 feet.

4 dives, 2 of them deeper than 30 meters

The most common equipment requirements, equipment set-up and decompression techniques are presented. Students are permitted to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within their current certification level.

  • Minimum age 18
  • Minimum certification of Advanced Diver, or equivalent
  • Provide proof of 25 logged open water dives

Many other courses are available, ask which one you would like to do!

Advanced Nitrox Diver

Step into technical diving with Advanced Nitrox Diver Course. This course takes you to a higher level for the use of nitrox; EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 40 metres / 130 feet. Throughout this course you will learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression.
